Hacksaw Gaming
The studio behind Hot Ross
Company History
Hacksaw Gaming launched in 2018 out of Sliema, Malta. The founding team came from NetEnt and Leander Games — industry veterans who'd spent years building someone else's slots before deciding to do their own thing.
The first couple of years were all scratch cards and instant-win titles. Then came the pivot to slots in 2020, and that changed their trajectory entirely. Within two years they'd secured licenses in 20+ jurisdictions and shipped over 50 slot titles. Growth was fast, but intentional — each release brought a distinct mechanic instead of reskinning the same bonus round.
What makes them different from the dozens of other providers? Every game gets its own signature feature. Expanding Ross Wilds in Hot Ross, DuelReels in Epic Bullets and Bounty, xNudge Wilds in Dork Unit. Their 2024-2026 releases average 3+ unique mechanics per game. Most providers recycle the same engine with different art — Hacksaw doesn't.
What They Do Best
High-Volatility Focus
Most Hacksaw slots sit at 4/5 or 5/5 volatility. They build explicitly for the bonus-hunting, high-variance crowd.
One-of-a-Kind Mechanics
Each title ships with its own signature feature. Expanding Ross Wilds, DuelReels, xNudge — these aren't shared between games.
Tiered Bonus Buys
Multiple buy options per game let players scale their risk. From cheap feature boosts to premium all-in purchases.
Portrait-First Mobile
Every game is designed for vertical phone play first. Desktop is the adaptation, not the original target.

Fairness & Licensing
All Hacksaw Gaming slots are certified by BMM Testlabs for RNG integrity. Regular audits confirm that published RTP figures match real gameplay data across millions of spins. The certification covers both demo and real-money modes — identical math models in both. No hidden adjustments based on play mode.
Why Hot Ross?
Hacksaw Gaming's calling card is building a unique mechanic for every title, and Hot Ross's expanding Ross Wild system is exclusive to this slot. The chain reaction where Hot Ross triggers adjacent expansions doesn't exist in any other Hacksaw game. The 5×5 grid was designed for portrait phone play from day one, and the 5/5 volatility rating fits their brand perfectly — high risk, high cap, no apologies.
